Our Mission
Vail’s Voice is a nonprofit foundation established to assist pediatric patients diagnosed with serious or prolonged illnesses and their families. Our Foundation’s namesake, Vail Marie Rohan was born on August 10, 2020. While in utero, she was diagnosed with Down Syndrome and Congenital Heart Disease. A warrior from the beginning, Vail has already battled several unimaginable obstacles in her young life. She developed a severe illness in January 2021 that required indefinite hospitalization with multiple procedures and surgeries and has required in-home nursing and therapies since her return home in June 2021. Finally, in January 2022, she received successful life-saving heart surgery. The trajectory of her condition remains unknown; however, her spirit remains steadfast and strong and she continues to defy odds. Though Vail cannot physically speak, her soul is a resounding reminder to have faith in her fight; to fight alongside her and other families like her own. We formed “Vail’s Voice” to tell the stories of her fellow warriors and to share in their fight.
